Dr. Jones came to Cancer Centers of North Carolina in October of 2008 from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where she received her specialty training and spent five years as a staff consultant. In addition to training medical students, residents, and fellows, Dr. Jones ran a basic science research laboratory in Ovarian and Endometrial Cancer focused on the molecular basis of these conditions. Dr. Jones has authored numerous peer reviewed papers describing her work and remains interested in molecular targeted therapies for the treatment of chemoresistant ovarian and endometrial cancer.
Her clinical interests include minimally invasive surgery for the management of these diseases. Since her arrival in Raleigh two years ago, she has established a robotic surgical program and has performed close to 200 robotic assisted procedures. She has a special clinical interest in fertility-sparing approaches to gynecologic cancers and routinely partners with reproductive endocrine specialists to coordinate the care of women faced with infertility and a gynecologic malignancy.
